Students will understand the chronological order of events of World War 2. The students will be able to list these events on a timeline.

Lesson Introduction
Teacher will begin the class by stating key words and phrases of items of World War 2, for example, D-Day and Pearl Harbor, asking which one happened first. Teacher will hand out two guided notes timeline fill in sheets. With one, the students will fill out what they previously know about the timeline. The second is for the lesson and to compare for students.
Vocabulary :
The vocabulary of special events, inventions, and political turn points will be provided on the on the timeline worksheet. On the timeline, they will be able to put them in place at where they occurred as well as write in next to the term some words to help them remember and understand it.

Content Delivery (Lecture)
Teacher will present a Prezi on the order of World War 2, Starting with Hitler’s advancing army and ending with Japan’s surrender. It will go over the dates of major battles, turning points, advancements, and extra’s that might occurs. Students are encouraged to demonstrate their knowledge by asking simple questions about something like “Can someone tell me something about D-Day?”
Students ENGAGEMENT
Students will fill out timeline while trying to answer questions during the class lecture. These two points should help them understand the flow of the War as well as the chronological order of events. Images will help them remember certain key vocabulary items. Students will also fill out a guided notes page, as well as create their own timeline on the back of the paper.
Lesson Closure
Students will create a timeline on the computer from the timeline they created in class. This timeline should be printed and brought to class as an assessment as well as used for the remainder of the Unite for help understanding the timing of events.
Assessment
Summative: The assessment will be the finished article timeline. Each student will have his or her own input on each event filled into onto the back of the timeline via timetoast.com.
Formative: During the lesson, teachers will use scaffolding to help students who have questions about time frames as well as question.

Accommodations for English Learners, Striving Readers and Students with Special Needs
The prezi will provide images for students. The teacher can also email the prezi out to students who need further help. This will help both El students as well as students with special needs. Striving readers will work on their writing through the fill out of vocabulary words on the back.
